Airports in India may face reduced user development fees for lapses like dirty toilets, baggage delays, and long queues, as per a proposal from the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA). The regulator plans to implement uniform performance standards for major airports, linking compliance to tariff structures with rewards for exceeding standards and penalties for failures.
