From controlled platform access to enhanced surveillance: Railways learns from Maha Kumbh, announces crowd-control measures at 60 busy stations

Indian Railways, led by minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced plans to tackle station overcrowding with new measures including permanent waiting areas outside 60 busy stations, complete access control, and improved foot over bridges. Enhanced surveillance, dedicated war rooms, and financially empowered station directors will also ensure better crowd management and passenger safety during high-traffic periods.
