Patiala police apprehended Sarover Singh, the prime suspect in the November 21st Thar jeep robbery, after a brief encounter. Singh, recently released from prison, opened fire on police, sustaining injuries in the ensuing exchange. The stolen jeep and a .32 bore pistol were recovered. Police are pursuing remaining accomplices.
