At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet in Qingdao, India refused to endorse a joint statement on terrorism due to Pakistan’s attempt, supported by China, to include unrelated issues and downplay cross-border terrorism. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that there should be no double standards in addressing terrorism, stressing the need to hold perpetrators accountable.
